Tripadvisor: reviews, rates and your own booking page

Tripadvisor is where many travelers read reviews before they book. Claiming your listing is free. Through your booking software, your rates can show in Tripadvisor’s price comparison, and a click takes the guest to your own booking page. Those clicks are paid, and you set the budget.

What it costs

  • Claiming your listing is free.
  • Price links through TripConnect are cost per click. You set a budget cap and pay only for clicks. Tripadvisor charges no integration cost and requires no minimum spend.
  • Business Advantage is a paid subscription. Tripadvisor says the minimum is $99 a year, and the price varies by location, size and profile. It lets you add a phone number, email and website link to your listing and post up to three special offers.
  • Sponsored Placements are paid ads that move your listing up for travelers searching your area.

Your own website and guest contact

  • A price link sends the guest to your own online booking page, so the booking is yours.
  • You can’t edit guest reviews or ratings. You can respond to them and ask guests to leave one.

How it connects

Rates reach Tripadvisor through booking software that’s certified with TripConnect. Many inn booking systems are. Your listing itself is claimed and managed on Tripadvisor.

Most booking software also works as a channel manager, so your rates and open dates stay in sync here, on your own website and on every other site you connect. How that works, with Comal Inn's setup.
