Barefoot: iLink for a quick start, or an open API
Barefoot offers two ways to connect your own website. iLink connects your site to Barefoot’s booking engine for online booking, availability, card payments and property details, and it’s meant to be quick and inexpensive. For more control, Barefoot’s open API lets your developer decide how Barefoot data shows on your site.

Who Barefoot is for
Barefoot is built for short-term, mid-term, long-term and corporate housing operators.
Ways to connect it to your website
- 01
iLink
Connects your website to Barefoot’s booking engine, with online booking, availability, card processing and property information. Barefoot aims it at smaller companies getting started.
- 02
A custom build on the API
Barefoot says its API is well documented and open, and gives your developer full control over how Barefoot data appears on your site.
Where guests actually book
With iLink, guests book through Barefoot’s booking engine. With the API, booking can be built into your own site. Either way, give every property a real page with photos, details and the area, on a domain you own.
Barefoot’s API and payments
API. Barefoot says it has an open, well-documented API. Ask Barefoot for developer access and documentation.
Payments. iLink includes credit card processing. Barefoot says it’s PCI Level 3 compliant.
Channels it connects to
Barefoot lists connections to big travel sites and vacation rental sites.
- Big travel sites
Barefoot lists direct connections to Vrbo, Airbnb and Tripadvisor, and says it connects to many larger and niche sites too.
What I’d do
iLink is the faster start. If you manage enough homes that search and design matter, the API gives you more control over how each property page looks and loads. Either way, keep rates in Barefoot and let it send them everywhere.
Either way, your own pages are what Google and AI tools read and recommend, so that's where the work pays off. I build direct booking websites around the booking software you already have, and I can move a site out of your booking software, redirecting every old page so your rankings carry over.
