Hostaway: search and calendar widgets on your own pages
Hostaway offers an embeddable search bar and a calendar widget you can add to your own pages, both of which send guests to your Hostaway booking website. That booking site can run on your own domain or a subdomain like book.yourdomain.com.

Who Hostaway is for
Hostaway says it’s built for vacation rental managers, property managers and short-term rental operators. Pricing is quoted and scales with your portfolio.
Ways to connect it to your website
- 01
The embeddable search bar
A script and a div you add to your page. Guests search by dates and land on your Hostaway booking website. You can set the color, font and whether it opens in a new tab.
- 02
The calendar widget
Shows one listing’s availability on your page, with a button to book or send an inquiry. One per page.
- 03
The Public API
For a fully custom site. You create API keys in your Hostaway dashboard. It needs a developer.
Where guests actually book
Both widgets need a published Hostaway booking website. It starts on a free yourname.holidayfuture.com address, and you can point your own domain or a subdomain at it. Hostaway says the booking site can’t be placed in an iframe or masked under another address, or payment links stop working.
Hostaway’s API and payments
API. Hostaway’s Public API. Account owners create keys in the dashboard under Settings. Hostaway says the API covers listings, availability, rates and reservations.
Payments. Stripe, Braintree and Authorize.net are listed as supported payment providers.
Channels it connects to
Hostaway lists connections to big travel sites, vacation rental sites, outdoor and camping sites and Google.
- Big travel sites
- Outdoor and camping
Google Vacation Rentals is an official integration with free booking links to your direct site. Savvy connects through Hostaway’s marketplace. Hipcamp isn’t documented.
What I’d do
Put the Hostaway booking site on a subdomain of your own domain and add the search bar to your own homepage. Don’t try to frame or hide the booking site inside your pages. Hostaway doesn’t allow it, and it breaks payments.
Either way, your own pages are what Google and AI tools read and recommend, so that's where the work pays off. I build direct booking websites around the booking software you already have, and I can move a site out of your booking software, redirecting every old page so your rankings carry over.
Questions
Can the Hostaway booking site use my domain?
Yes. You can point your own domain or a subdomain like book.yourdomain.com at it instead of the free holidayfuture.com address.
Is there a Hostaway WordPress plugin?
Hostaway says its WordPress plugin is deprecated and no longer supported. The search bar code still works on WordPress pages.
Can I put the Hostaway booking site in an iframe?
No. Hostaway says the booking site can’t be iframed or masked, and payment links get disabled if it is.
