Campspot: Book Now links with no Marketplace commission

Your own campground website links to your Campspot booking page with a Book Now button. Campspot says bookings from your website don’t pay the Marketplace commission, which only applies to bookings made in the Campspot app and marketplace. That makes your own site one of the cheapest ways to get a reservation.

Who Campspot is for

Campspot serves private RV parks and campgrounds, public parks, franchises and multi-park groups across the US and Canada.

Ways to connect it to your website

  1. 01

A Book Now button to your booking page

Campspot’s own advice is a high-contrast Book Now button in your top menu, repeated in the middle and at the bottom of your pages.

  2. 02

    The Online Booking API

For a fully custom booking flow. Campspot says it starts at $7,500, needs a dedicated technical team, is for parks on the Campspot Marketplace, and requires a “Powered By Campspot.com” link in your footer.

Where guests actually book

For most parks, guests book on Campspot’s booking pages, not your domain. Parks that build on the Online Booking API can run the booking on their own site instead. Either way is fine for Google, since your own pages about your sites, amenities and area are what rank. Set up cross-domain tracking so your analytics can follow the guest to the booking page.

Campspot’s API and payments

Payments. Card and ACH payments through Fiserv (CardPointe), with Worldpay for online cards.

Channels it connects to

Campspot lists connections to big travel sites, vacation rental sites and outdoor and camping sites.

Airbnb and Booking.com connect through DerbySoft, and Airbnb and Vrbo can also be managed through BnBerry. Campspot also runs its own marketplace.

What I’d do

Treat your own website as the front door, since website bookings don’t pay the marketplace commission. Give every site type its own page with photos, hookups and rules, put a Book Now button on each, and tell returning guests to book through your site.

Either way, your own pages are what Google and AI tools read and recommend, so that's where the work pays off. I build direct booking websites around the booking software you already have, and I can move a site out of your booking software, redirecting every old page so your rankings carry over.

Questions

Do website bookings pay the Campspot Marketplace commission?

No. Campspot says Marketplace commissions only apply to in-app bookings, not your website bookings or walk-ins.

Does Campspot have a booking widget?

Campspot doesn’t document one. It recommends a Book Now button that links to your booking page, or the Online Booking API for a custom build.
